ACCIAIUOLI, NICCOLÒ. — Cardinal, born in Florence in 1630, died in Rome in 1719. He studied at the seminary and the Collegio romano and earned a degree in law. During the pontificate of Innocenzo X he was a cleric of the Apostolic Camera; under Alessandro VII he was commissioner of the arms, and in 1667 he became auditor general of the Apostolic Camera. On 29 November 1669, he was created by Clemente IX cardinal deacon of SS. Cosma e Damiano. He was then sent as legate to Ferrara, where he remained for twelve years. From 1715 he was bishop of Ostia and dean of the Sacred College.
