AEZIO di LIDDA. — Present at the Council of Nicaea in 325, he subscribed to the orthodox faith; but not long
before this Arius counted him among his supporters. In 330 he took part in the Arian Council of Antioch, and the historian Philostorgius accused him of having joined the party of s. Atanasio in the hope of freeing himself from the accusation of fornication, adding that he died shortly afterwards by just judgment. Cf. Theodoret, Hist. eccl., I, 5, 20; IV, 7.
