### Diocese of Cajazeiras
The Diocese of Cajazeiras is in the Republic of Brazil, in the state of Parahyba do Norte. It was erected by Pius X on 6 February 1914 by the bull *Maius Catholica Religionis Incrementum*, which detached its territory from the Diocese of Parahyba, of which it is a suffragan.
It comprises the western part of the state of Parahyba, at approximately 7° south latitude, with an area of 22,602 square kilometers and a population of about 300,000 souls (1948). The diocese is divided into 17 parishes. The diocesan clergy consists of 26 diocesan priests and 7 religious (Carmelites and Salesians, who run the P. Rolim Gymnasium in C.). The titular of the cathedral and the diocese is Our Lady of Piety.
The Daughters of Divine Love run the Christ the King boarding school in Patos; the Dorothean Sisters direct a college in the episcopal city; and the Franciscans operate a normal school in Catolé do Rocha.
