CORRADO, saint. — Bishop of Constance. His noble parents entrusted him to the clergy of the cathedral of Constance, and Bishop Notingo (920–34) chose him as his collaborator; he succeeded him in the episcopate in 934. He was united in friendship with St. Ulrico, bishop of Augusta. Tireless in his apostolic ministry, he built the three beautiful churches of St. Maurizio, St. Paolo, and St. Giovanni. He visited the Holy Land three times and died after forty-two years of fruitful episcopate on 26 November 975. He was buried in the church of St. Maurizio. Callistus II is said to have canonized him on 28 March 1123 during the Lateran Council, but the source is not certain. His feast is celebrated on 26 November.
