FASOLO, GIOVANNI BATTISTA. — Franciscan, born at Asti (or at Bergamo?), who lived in the seventeenth century, composer and organist; he was maestro di cappella to the archbishop of Monreale (Palermo).
In addition to various vocal and guitar music, published in Rome in 1627, 1628, and 1629, he wrote an Annuale, which contains everything that an organist must do to respond to the Choir throughout the year... (Hymns, Masses, Magnificats, Antiphons, etc., Venice 1645), and Arie spirituali morali, e indifferenti ecc. concertate per ogni voce, a 2 e a 3, e nel fine alcuni dialoghi a 3 voci, e due arte a canto, o ten, con 2 violini, ecc.,
book I, op. 9 (Palermo 1659); two psalms are included in the collection Sacra Animarum by B. Cappello (Naples 1650).
