TEBALDINI, GIOVANNI. - Musician, b. in Brescia on Sept. 7, 1864, d. in S. Benedetto del Tronto on May 12, 1952.

Having perfected his studies also abroad, he was a teacher and director in various cities: Venice, Padua, Parma, Loreto, Naples, Genoa. In the musical field, in addition to composing masses and various sacred music, he transcribed into a modern orchestral score the Rappresentazione di Anima e Corpo by E. del Cavaliere, as well as the Euridice by Peri and Caccini. His most fruitful work was carried out in favor of the reform of sacred music, as a writer and lecturer, researcher and scholar, earning the full approval of Bl. Pius X. His most significant writings include: La musica sacra in Italia (1894); L'Archivio musicale della Cappella Antoniana di Padova (1895); L'Archivio musicale della Cappella Lauretana (1922); Il canto gregoriano e la musicalità palestiniana, in the journal Il pensiero musicale, 1922-23, and numerous articles in the Rivista musicale italiana and other periodicals.
