AURIFEX BUONFIGLI, NICOLA. — Italian Carmelite, born around 1529 in Siena, where he took the Carmelite habit and earned a degree in theology; died in Siena in 1601. In 1565, he was listed among the theologians of the University of Florence, of which he became dean in 1578. He later held the position of prior of the convent in Siena, regent of studies at the colleges of Paris, Padua (1575), and Venice (1580), as well as provincial of Tuscany (1581).
