CORRER, ANTONIO. – Cardinal, born in Venice in 1369. He was the nephew of Angelo C., later Pope Gregorio XII, and lived with the religious of S. Giorgio in Alga together with Gabriele Condulmer, the future Eugenio IV. Created chamberlain and bishop of Modone by his uncle, he was immediately transferred to Bologna (March 1407) and created cardinal at Lucca on 9 May 1408; he became bishop of Porto in 1409 and then of Ostia in March 1431. Legate in Germany and Flanders on 13 December 1408, he took part in the election of Martino V in 1417; legate to Perugia in 1425 and for the peace between Florence and Siena in 1431; he died at Padua on 19 January 1445 in a reputation for sanctity and was buried in Venice.
