LUNGRO, DIOCESE of. — For the Italo-Albanians, Benedict XV, by the constitution Catholici fideles of 12 February 1919, established in Calabria a diocese of its own, with its see at L., extending throughout southern continental Italy.
It has 20 parishes, 37,500 faithful, 32 priests, and 2 congregations of nuns: the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts and the Basilian Sisters of St. Macrina. The priests are trained at the monastery of Grottaferrata and at the Greek College of Rome.
