LUNGRO, DIOCESI di. - For the Italo-Albanians, Benedict XV, by the constitution Catholici fideles of 12 February 1919, erected in Calabria a diocese of its own with its seat at L., which extends over the whole of southern continental Italy.

It has 20 parishes, 37,500 faithful, 32 priests and 2 congregations of sisters: the Piccole Operaie dei Sacri Cuori, and the Basilian Sisters of St. Macrina. The priests are trained in the monastery of Grottaferrata and in the Greek College of Rome.
