He translated into Latin the homily *In illud: "Adam, where art thou?"* by Origen, to refute certain insinuations made by Rufinus against him. He dedicated many of his commentaries on Holy Scripture to St Jerome. In 401 St Augustine addressed a letter (Ep., 58) to him, thanking him for an appeal directed to the faithful of Numidia to abandon the Donatist schism. The Roman Martyrology commemorates his feast on 30 August.
