HIGHER INSTITUTE OF CHRISTIAN ART «BEATO ANGELICO». – Founded by Monsignor G. Polvara (v.) in October 1921 with the dual purpose of training Christian artists capable of infusing their faith and love into works destined for the Church, and of producing works of art for the Church, drawing inspiration from liturgical sources. No field of art relevant to the Church has been left untouched by the «Beato Angelico» school, ranging from architecture to sculptural and pictorial decoration, music, furniture, metalwork, stained glass, enamels, fabrics, tapestries, embroidery, vestments, and more.

Today, this school is supported by a religious institution, the «Famiglia Beato Angelico» (established as a collegial moral entity by the Archbishop of Milan in 1942 and as a patrimonial entity in 1943), with a governing body ensuring its continuity; its current director is the architect, Rev.
