BANDINI, OTTAVIO. — Cardinal, born in Florence, died in Rome on 1 August 1629. He earned a degree in law at Pisa. After moving to Rome, he was appointed by Gregory XIII as an apostolic protonotary. In 1586, Sixtus V entrusted him with the governance of the city of Fermo, and in 1590 with the presidency of all the Marches. On 29 July 1595, Clement VIII named him Archbishop of Fermo, and on 5 June of the following year, cardinal with the title of S. Sabina. In 1606, he resigned the see of Fermo; in 1626, under Urban VIII, he became Bishop of Ostia and Dean of the Sacred College.
