BANDINI, OTTAVIO. – Cardinal, born in Florence, died in Rome on 1 August 1629. He graduated in law at Pisa. Having gone to Rome, he was appointed apostolic protonotary by Gregorio XIII. In 1586 Sisto V entrusted him with the government of the city of Fermo, and in 1590 with the presidency of all the Marches. On 29 July 1595 Clemente VIII appointed him archbishop of Fermo, and on 5 June of the following year cardinal of the title of S. Sabina. In 1606 he resigned the archbishopric of Fermo; in 1626, under Urbano VIII, he became bishop of Ostia and dean of the Sacred College.
