1David being old and full of days, made Solomon his son king over Israel.Davidde adunque avanzato in età, e pieno di giorni stabili Salomone suo figliuolo re d'Israele.DAVID therfore being old & ful of daies, made Salomon his sonne king ouer Israel.Igitur David, senex et plenus dierum, regem constituit Salomonem filium suum super Israël. 2And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, and the priests and Levites.E convocò tutti i principi d'Israele, e i sacerdoti, e i Leviti:And he gathered al the princes of Israel, and the Priestes and Leuites.Et congregavit omnes principes Israël, et sacerdotes atque Levitas. 3And the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years, and upwards: and there were found of them thirty-eight thousand men.E fu fatto il novero dei Leviti dai trent'anni in su: e si trovarono trent'otto mila persone.And the Leuites were numbred from thirtie yeares, & vpward: and there were found thirtie eight thousand men.Numeratique sunt Levitæ a triginta annis et supra: et inventa sunt triginta octo millia virorum. 4Of these twenty-four thousand were chosen, and distributed unto the ministry of the house of the Lord: and six thousand were the overseers and judges.Ventiquattro mila di questi furono scelti, e distribuiti pei ministeri della casa del Signore: e i prefetti, e i giudici furono sei mila.Of these were chosen, and distributed into the ministerie of the house of our Lord foure and twentie thousand: and of the ouerseers and iudges, six thousand.Ex his electi sunt, et distributi in ministerium domus Domini, viginti quatuor millia: præpositorum autem et judicum, sex millia. 5Moreover four thousand were porters: and as many singers singing to the Lord with the instruments, which he had made to sing with.E quattro mila erano i portinai: e altrettanti i cantori, che cantavano le laudi del Signore sopra gli strumenti fatti da lui per lo canto.Moreouer foute thousand porters: and as manie singing to our Lord on instrumentes, which he had made to sing onPorro quatuor millia janitores, et totidem psaltæ, canentes Domino in organis quæ fecerat ad canendum. 6And David distributed them into courses by the families of the sons of Levi, to wit, of Gerson, and of Caath, and of Merari.E Davidde li distribuì nei loro turni secondo le casate de' figliuoli di Levi, viene a dire, di Gerson, e di Caath, e di Merari.And Dauid distributed them by the courses of the children of Leui, to witte, of Gerson, and Caath, and Merari.Et distribuit eos David per vices filiorum Levi, Gerson videlicet, et Caath, et Merari.

And Aaron was separated to minister in the holy of holies, he and his sons for ever, and to burn incense before the Lord, according to his ceremonies, and to bless his name for ever.Figliuoli di Amram: Aaronne, e Mosè: ma Aaronne fu separato pel ministero del Santo de' Santi, egli, e i suoi figliuoli in sempiterno, per bruciare l'incenso in onor del Signore secondo i suoi riti, e benedire il nome di lui in perpetuo.The sonnes of Amram, Aaron, and Moyses. And Aaron was seperated to minister in Sanctasanctorum, he and his sonnes for euer, and to burne incense to our Lord according to his rite, and to blesse his name for euer.Filii Amram: Aaron et Moyses. Separatusque est Aaron ut ministraret in Sancto sanctorum, ipse et filii ejus in sempiternum, et adoleret incensum Domino secundum ritum suum, ac benediceret nomini ejus in perpetuum.

24These are the sons of Levi in their kindreds and families, princes by their courses, and the number of every head that did the works of the ministry of the house of the Lord from twenty years old and upward.Questi sono i figliuoli di Levi capi delle loro famiglie, e consorterie, noverati testa per testa, i quali esercitavano a turno le incumbenze del ministero della casa del Signore dai venti anni in poi.These be the children of Leui in their kinredes and families, princes by courses, and number of euerie head, that did the workes of ministerie of the house of our Lord from twentie yeares, and vpward.Hi filii Levi in cognationibus et familiis suis, principes per vices, et numerum capitum singulorum qui faciebant opera ministerii domus Domini, a viginti annis et supra. 25For David said: The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest to his people, and a habitation in Jerusalem for ever.Perocché disse Davidde: Il Signore Dio d'Israele ha dato requie al suo popolo, e ferma stanza in Gerusalemme in perpetuo.For Dauid sayd: Our Lord the God of Israel hath geuen rest to his people, and the habitation of Ierusalem for euer.Dixit enim David: Requiem dedit Dominus Deus Israël populo suo, et habitationem Jerusalem usque in æternum. 26And it shall not be the office of the Levites to carry any more the tabernacle, and all the vessels for the service thereof.E non avran più i Leviti l'ufficio di portare il tabernacolo, e tutti i vasi di servigio del medesimo.Neither shal it be the office of the Leuites to carie any more the tabernacle, and al the vessels therof to minister.Nec erit officii Levitarum ut ultra portent tabernaculum et omnia vasa ejus ad ministrandum. 27So according to the last precepts of David, the sons of Levi are to be numbered from twenty years old and upward.Or secondo le ultime disposizioni di David, il numero de' figliuoli di Levi dee contarsi dai venti anni in poi.According to the last preceptes also of Dauid the number of the children of Leui shalbe numbred from twentie yeares and vpward.Juxta præcepta quoque David novissima, supputabitur numerus filiorum Levi a viginti annis et supra. 28And they are to be under the hand of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the porches, and in the chambers, and in the place of purification, and in the sanctuary, and in all the works of the ministry of the temple of the Lord.E saranno subordinati ai figliuoli d'Aaronne riguardo al culto della casa del Signore, sia nei vestiboli, sia nelle camere, e nel luogo della purificazione, e nel Santuario, e in tutte le funzioni del ministero del tempio del Signore.And they shal be vnder the hand of the sonnes of Aaron for the seruice of the house of our Lord, in the entrances, and in the chambers, and in the place of purification, and in the Sanctuarie, and in al the workes of the ministerie of the temple of our Lord.Et erunt sub manu filiorum Aaron in cultum domus Domini, in vestibulis, et in exedris, et in loco purificationis, et in sanctuario, et in universis operibus ministerii templi Domini.

29And the priests have the charge of the loaves of proposition, and of the sacrifice of fine flour, and of the unleavened cakes, and of the fryingpan, and of the roasting, and of every weight and measure.I sacerdoti poi hanno la soprintendenza dei pani della proposizione, de' sagrifizj di fior di farina, e delle offelle azzime, e de' frittumi, e di quello, che si arrostisce, e di tutti i pesi, e misure.And the Priestes, ouer the loaues of proposition, and for the sacrifice of floure, and for cakes and azimes, and the frying panne, and to rost, and ouer al weight and measure.Sacerdotes autem, super panes propositionis, et ad similæ sacrificium, et ad lagana azyma, et sartaginem, et ad torrendum, et super omne pondus atque mensuram. 30And the Levites are to stand in the morning to give thanks, and to sing praises to the Lord: and in like manner in the evening,E i Leviti si trovino la mattina a cantare le lodi del Signore: e parimente la sera,But the Leuites to stand in the morning to confesse, and sing to our Lord: and in like maner at euening,Levitæ vero ut stent mane ad confitendum et canendum Domino: similiterque ad vesperam, 31As well in the oblation of the holocausts of the Lord, as in the sabbaths and in the new moons, and the rest of the solemnities, according to the number and ceremonies prescribed for every thing, continually before the Lord.Tanto alle oblazioni degli olocausti del Signore, come ne' giorni di sabato, e delle calende, e nelle altre solennità nel numero prescritto, e osservando costantemente le cerimonie, che a ciascuna cosa convengono dinanzi al Signore.as wel in the oblation of the holocaustes of our Lord, as in the Sabbathes and Calendes, and the rest of the solemnities, according to the number, and ceremonies of euerie thing, continually before our Lord.tam in oblatione holocaustorum Domini, quam in sabbatis et calendis et solemnitatibus reliquis juxta numerum et cæremonias uniuscujusque rei, jugiter coram Domino. 32And let them keep the observances of the tabernacle of the covenant, and the ceremonies of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, that they may minister in the house of the Lord.E manterranno le regole del tabernacolo del testamento, e i riti del Santuario, e gli ordini de' figliuoli d'Aaronne loro fratelli, per fare le loro funzioni nella casa del Signore.And let them keepe the obseruations of the tabernacle of couenant, and the rite of the Sanctuarie, and the obseruance of the children of Aaron their brethren, that they minister in the house of our Lord.Et custodiant observationes tabernaculi fœderis, et ritum sanctuarii, et observationem filiorum Aaron fratrum suorum, ut ministrent in domo Domini.
