Urban, Bishop, Servant of the Servants of God. For perpetual remembrance of the matter.

1 Since we, though unworthy, hold the place of Him whose works are perfect, it behooves us to imitate Him according to our ability, so that those things which we have begun with pious dispensation to His praise and glory, we may bring to the end of due completion.

2 Indeed, having long considered, and turning over within the closed chambers of our breast with solicitous meditation, that the beloved sons, the Community of Monti Flascone, which was then the Castle of Balnorene in the Diocese, among the other faithful of Italy have always borne toward us and our Predecessors the Roman Pontiffs and the Roman Church our Spouse such sincere affection of devotion, and that their fidelity merited that the Apostolic See should follow them with opportune favors and graces, and that we ourselves with the Roman Curia or the greater part of it then remained in that Castle, and therefore commending their devotion in the Lord in manifold ways, wishing to foster that Castle with the distinction of Apostolic favor, having given careful consideration to these matters within ourselves, and having held diligent discussion also with our Brethren, and having proceeded with mature deliberation, by the counsel of our said Brethren and by the fullness of Apostolic power, to the praise and glory of the Divine Name, to the exaltation of the Church and the benefit of souls, we have erected the Church of Blessed Margaret of the aforesaid Castle into a Cathedral, adorning it with the title of Episcopal dignity, and we have constituted the same Castle of Monti Flascone as a place distinguished, devoted, apt, and suitable for the Church.

4 In the Cathedral Church, in the City. We have constituted it and designated it with the name of City, and we will that this City of Monti Flascone be called by that name in perpetuity for all future times.

5 § 2. But in order that in the same Church the Almighty may be praised with the greater praises of laudation, inasmuch as a greater number of Ministers shall be shown to be there, and a Pastor may preside over the same Cathedral Church, so that the Ministers of that Church may have suitable sustenance, by Apostolic authority by the tenor of these presents we establish and also ordain that in that Church there shall now be eight Canons Prebendaries providing assistance, of whom one shall be a Dean who, after the Bishop, shall preside over the other Canons and persons of the said Church, and who shall hold the first place and the first voice in the Choir and Chapter and Church, and another shall be a Sacristan, who shall ring the bells and faithfully and reverently guard the Sacred Vessels, Ornaments, and books and other utensils of the said Church, and shall have the second voice in the Choir and Chapter and the aforesaid Church. The other Canons after the Dean and Sacristan shall hold places and voices according to the order of their provisions, and nevertheless the Dean shall hold the Deanery, which is a dignified office, and the Sacristan in the same Church. And further, on account of such a chapter there shall be in the same Church six perpetual Chaplains and four Clerks also perpetual, of whom one shall be a Deacon and another a Subdeacon, and the other two shall be called Choir Clerks or Ceroferaries, and they shall serve the same Church in divine offices; and that the same Dean, Sacristan, Canons, and Chaplains shall be in the Priesthood or within a year from the time when they peacefully obtain the Deanery, Sacristy, Canonries and prebends and Chaplaincies, they shall have themselves promoted to the Priesthood, and two Canons and two Chaplains constituted in the Priesthood shall continually serve the aforesaid Church of Monti Flascone and the Church of St. Flavian near the said City, which is parochial, yet so that they shall be bound to come to the aforesaid Cathedral Church on the feast day of St. Margaret. The remaining Canons and Chaplains shall continually serve in the same Cathedral Church, otherwise they shall be punished and mulcted as it shall seem good to the aforesaid Bishop and Chapter to do.

6 § 3. We will, however, that when the said Deanery is vacant, the election of the Dean shall pertain to the said Chapter, but confirmation to the Bishop, and the collation of the Sacristy and Canonries, prebends, and Chaplaincies and other Ecclesiastical Benefices, of whatever kind, whether Secular or Regular, with cure or without cure, both in the same Church and in the City and Diocese of Monti Flascone, shall pertain to the Bishop of Monti Flascone with the counsel of his Chapter.

7 § 5. Moreover, since concerning Churches and Ecclesiastical Benefices, Castles, Villages, Territories, Lands, Possessions, rights, jurisdictions spiritual and temporal, and other revenues, proceeds, lands, possessions, and goods both ecclesiastical and those in which the proper Diocese of Montefiascone is to be appointed and also limited, and five hundred florins annually for the Bishop and four hundred fifty florins for the portions of the same Church's Chapter, which we propose to assign from the aforesaid revenues, proceeds, lands, possessions, and other goods, we have been fully informed by certain of our venerable Brethren of the Holy Roman Church, Cardinals, and other sufficient and trustworthy persons, through whom we have specially enjoined mandates upon these matters. Wishing to bring to its proper conclusion that which we have so usefully begun, and thereby to proceed in the name of God to the limitation of the said Diocese of Montefiascone and to the making of a special assignment of such revenues, proceeds, lands, possessions, and other goods for such endowments, we will, decree by Apostolic authority and from certain knowledge, that the castles, places, and territories written below, as well as Monasteries, Churches, dwellings, and other things contained therein, namely, Valle Laterem, Gradularum, Criptarum Sancti Laurentii, and also Bisen and Capitis Montis, with their territories, Castles, and moreover the place of the Island of Martin within the lake of Bolseno, Martha, which also lies near the said place, Cornone, and Fartellunem Celleni and Florentini Castles with their territories and tenements, and the Island of Bisentin, which lies near the Lake of Bolseno, and of Sanctae Mariae de Sanguinorio, Sanctorum Joannis and Victoris, Castle of Araldi, Sanctae Mariae in Capita, and Sanctae Mariae Hospital of Sancti Joannis Hierosolymitani Dwellings, Castles of the Urbevetana, Viterbiensia, Tuscanea, and Balneoregiensia Dioceses, and also whatever of the aforesaid Diocese of Balneoregiensia between Viterbo, Celleno, Tuscanella, and Montefiascone was in their tenements and has been accustomed to be, shall henceforth be of the Diocese of Montefiascone. We appoint and assign all these things in the same Diocese of Montefiascone, and we exempt the Diocese thus limited from the dominion and power of our venerable Brethren the Bishops of Urbevetana, Viterbiensia, Tuscanea, and Balneoregiensia, and we subject it by diocesan and ordinary right to the Bishop of Montefiascone who is and shall be for the time being, willing and decreeing that whatever preeminence, majority, superiority, jurisdiction, and exercise of spiritual and temporal right in the same Diocese thus limited by us pertained in any way to the aforesaid Bishops of Urbevetana, Viterbiensia, Tuscanea, and Balneoregiensia shall pertain to the Bishop of Montefiascone aforesaid.

Moreover, the union or annexation of the parish Church of St. Stephen in the aforesaid Island of Maiano to the Bishop of Viterbo for the time being existing, and to his Episcopal Mensa of Viterbo, which was made long ago by tenor of the present [document], we dissolve; and the same Church of St. Stephen, and the rural Priory called St. Benedict of Paternò, and another Church of Pitigliano of the Diocese of Bagnoreggio, which Church of St. Benedict is at present known to be vacant by the death of the late Captain of Amelia, with all rights and appurtenances of the same in whatever places they exist, we annex, incorporate, and unite to the Episcopal Mensa of Montefiascone by the present [document], so that it may be lawful for the Bishop of Montefiascone for the time being to apprehend corporeal possession of the aforesaid churches and of the rights and appurtenances aforesaid, whose value is known to be one hundred eighty florins, no license whatsoever being required: provided, however, that in the aforesaid Parish Church a perpetual Vicar shall serve in divine offices, just as he was accustomed to serve before this union and dissolution. And furthermore, the fruits, revenues, and income of the Abbey or Monastery of St. Peter of Aliano, valued at forty florins, in which there is no Monk, nor has there been for a long time, and which was long ago united by John, Pope of happy memory, our predecessor, to the Camera of the Patrimony of St. Peter in Tuscany, which fruits, revenues, and income consist in lands, vineyards, forests, pastures, meadows, and Houses situated in the district and territory of Cadro Canniti and the City of Tuscany, with all rights and appurtenances thereof; and also the revenues and income which our Camera receives in Cadro de Bulfeno and in its territory, and in the place called Burgi ad Sererum, and in the place called Quare vallis lacus, which is situated in the cadro de Bulfeno in Houses there near the square and market, and in a certain water mill for grinding at la Sontana, and in a certain water mill for grinding grain, called the mill of the Praetorium, situated near the gate of the said Cadro, and the revenue of the said Burgi ad Sererum, whose fruits consist in meadows, lands, and fields situated in the districts and territories of the cadros of Bulfeno, Griptarum, and St. Lawrence aforesaid, which revenues and emoluments aforesaid are known to be worth forty-seven florins annually: as also the revenues and income which the said Camera receives in the aforesaid City of Montefiascone from the properties called the properties of Lord Adventing and Ser. Bertoldi, whose fruits and revenues consist in Houses, Vineyards, and fields, not worth more than fifteen florins annually, and also a certain house in the said City consisting to Us and the said Camera pertaining, which is known to be from the said property, granted to good and beneficial ecclesiastical uses in the said City,

9 and some meadows, which are called the meadows of the Camera, and in certain vineyards situated in the territory of the said place: rents which consist in wine and hay, and are not worth more than three florins annually; and also the revenues, income, and rents which are received for our aforesaid Camera in Castel Matta in its territory, which consist in Houses, vineyards, mills, forests, pastures, and meadows, except however the passage, which revenues, income, and annual rents do not exceed seventy florins; a certain mill suitable for grinding grain situated in the territory of the said Cadro of Griptarum, which is of the value of the aforesaid Camera of five florins annually: and also the revenues and income which our aforesaid Camera has received in the Cadro and its territory of Centumcellae, which consist in pastures and acorns valued at one hundred fifty florins, we designate and assign for the dower of the said Bishop and his Mensa, willing and decreeing that animals which in the aforesaid pastures of Centumcellae on behalf of the aforesaid Bishop shall be sent for the aforesaid pastures only to be taken, may and ought to pass through the pastures of our province of the Patrimony of St. Peter in Tuscany without payment of herbage and also of any toll or tax, to go, return, and freely pass, as often as it shall be opportune.

10 § 7. And moreover for such a dowry to the aforesaid Chapters, We incorporate, annex, and unite the Church of St. Flavian with the Chapels annexed to and dependent upon the same, valued at two hundred florins, by the tenor of these presents, and We will and ordain that those obtaining benefices in the same shall be Canons of the Cathedral Church aforesaid; and We concede, grant, annex, incorporate, and unite to the same Chapter by the tenor of these presents one half of the fruits, revenues, and proceeds of the rural church of St. Lucy of Paterno in the Diocese of Lucca, which half amounts to one hundred florins, to the same Chapter, so that the same Chapter may freely perceive this half of the said fruits, revenues, and proceeds, when the church of St. Lucy is now vacant or shall become vacant as soon as possible, and may convert them to its own uses by its own authority, no license whatsoever being required; the aforesaid lands, revenues, and emoluments which the Chapter of the Lateran Church and the Church itself in the territory of the said city of Montefiascone perceive and have been accustomed to perceive, in whatever things they consist, valued annually at fifty florins, as well as the revenues and proceeds which the said Camera has been accustomed to perceive at Santo Savino between Tuscania and Martara, which are valued at one hundred florins annually, We assign, grant, and also depute for the dowry of the said Chapter, and We will that if these assignments and deputations of Ours shall be found to exceed the aforesaid sums of five hundred florins for the Bishop and four hundred and forty florins for the aforesaid Chapter in any way or otherwise, nothing may be demanded or exacted from the same Bishop and Chapter for greater value in any manner or way, or deducted, but the whole shall redound to the benefit of the Chapter and Bishop; or if perchance the aforesaid shall be found to be worth less, the same Bishop and Chapter may demand or exact nothing beyond that, notwithstanding any letters of Ours of whatever tenor existing on this matter, which insofar as they may be contrary to this ordinance of Ours We vacate entirely, and nevertheless We decree that those things contained in them shall remain in their force as regards what is contained therein. § 8. These limitations, unions, annexations, incorporations, concessions, grants, deputations, and assignments of Ours thus made and usefully ordained, willing them to endure perpetually in time and to obtain the force of immutable firmness, by the authority aforesaid We strictly forbid that anyone of whatever eminence, order, or status, however resplendent in dignity, presume to disturb this limitation and the other aforesaid matters thus made or anything or any part of the things contained in them by any sought-for color, manner, or cause, or occasion generally invented, or to impede them in any way whatsoever. For We decree null and void if otherwise anything contrary to these things shall be attempted by anyone or by any authority, knowingly or unknowingly. Let no one at all be permitted to infringe this page of Our limitation, union, annexation, incorporation, concession, deputation, assignment, will, and constitution of this kind, &c. 1 Poiché, benché immeritevolmente sosteniamo le veci di Colui le cui opere sono perfette, conviene che lo imitiamo secondo le nostre forze, affinché quelle cose che con pia disposizione abbiamo iniziato per sua lode e gloria, le conduciamo al termine della dovuta consumazione.

2 Certamente da tempo considerando e rivolgendo con sollecita meditazione entro i recessi del nostro petto, che i diletti figli della Comunità di Montefiascone, che allora era il Castello di Balnoreno, Diocesi, tra gli altri fedeli dell'Italia verso di noi e i nostri Predecessori Romani Pontefici e la Chiesa Romana Sposa nostra sempre hanno portato affetto, come portavano sincera testimonianza di devozione, e la loro fedeltà aveva meritato che la Sede Apostolica li prosequisse con favori e grazie opportune, e poiché il Castello stesso con la Curia Romana, o la maggior parte di essa, allora risiedeva, e perciò la loro devozione commendando molteplici volte nel Signore, volendo il medesimo Castello con il privilegio del favore apostolico confortare, su queste cose con attenta meditazione dentro di noi, e anche con i nostri Fratelli con diligente trattazione premessa, e matura deliberazione susseguita, del consiglio dei medesimi Fratelli, e con la pienezza dell'autorità apostolica per la lode e gloria del nome divino, per l'esaltazione della Chiesa e il profitto delle anime, la Chiesa di Beata Margherita del predetto Castello in Cattedrale abbiamo eretto, decorandola con il titolo della dignità episcopale, e inoltre il medesimo Castello di Montefiascone come luogo insigne, devoto, atto e conveniente alla Chiesa

4 nella Cattedrale, nella città. Costituiamo e lo contrassegniamo con il vocabolo di Città, e questa Città di Montefiascone vogliamo che sia chiamata per tutti i tempi futuri.

5 § 2. Veramente affinché nella medesima Chiesa l'Onnipotente sia lodato con maggiori encomi di lode, quanto più grande numero di Ministri ivi sia dimostrato, e il Pastore presida alla medesima Chiesa Cattedrale, affinché i Ministri della medesima Chiesa abbiano conveniente sostentamento, con autorità Apostolica per il tenore dei presenti stabiliamo e anche ordiniamo, che nella Chiesa medesima, così di nuovo siano otto Canonici Prebendati che facciano aiuto, dei quali uno sia Decano che dopo il Vescovo agli altri Canonici e alle persone della detta Chiesa presida, e che il primo posto e la prima voce nel Coro e nel Capitolo e nella Chiesa ottenga, e un altro sia Sacrestano, che le campane debba suonare, nonché i Vasi Sacri, i Calici e i libri e altri utensili della detta Chiesa fedelmente e riverentemente debba custodire, e la seconda voce nel Coro e nel Capitolo e nella Chiesa predetta abbia. Gli altri Canonici poi dopo il medesimo Decano e Sacrestano secondo l'ordine delle loro provisioni i luoghi e le voci ottengano, e nondimeno il Decano il Decanato, che dignità curata, e il Sacrestano nella medesima Chiesa otterranno: e inoltre perché per questo capitolo siano nella medesima Chiesa sei Cappellani perpetui e quattro Chierici anche perpetui, dei quali uno sia Diacono, e un altro Suddiacono, e gli altri due Coristi, o Ceroferari si chiamino, e alla medesima Chiesa nel servizio divino servano: e che il medesimo Decano, Sacrestano, Canonici e Cappellani siano nel Sacerdozio costituiti, o entro un anno dal tempo in cui il Decanato, la Sacrestia, i Canonicati e le prebende e le Cappellanie pacificamente conseguono, si facciano al Sacerdozio promuovere, e due Canonici e due Cappellani nel Sacerdozio costituiti alla predetta Chiesa di Montefiascone, alla Chiesa di San Flaviano presso la detta Città, che parrocchiale esiste, continuamente servano, così però che alla prefata Chiesa Cattedrale nel giorno della medesima Santa Margherita venire siano tenuti. Gli altri poi Canonici e Cappellani continuamente nella medesima Chiesa Cattedrale servano altrimenti siano puniti e multati, come ai prefati Vescovo e Capitolo sembrerà da farsi.

Vogliamo però che vacante il detto Decanato l'elezione del Decano ai detti Capitolo, la conferma però al Vescovo, la Collazione però della Sacrestia e dei Canonicati, delle prebende e delle Cappellanie e degli altri Benefici Ecclesiastici, di qualunque Secolari e Regolari con cura e senza cura tanto nella medesima Chiesa, quanto nella Città e Diocesi di Montefiascone consistenti al Vescovo di Montefiascone con il consiglio del suo Capitolo appartenga.

Del resto, poiché riguardo alle Chiese e ai Benefici Ecclesiastici, ai Castelli, Ville, Territori, Terre, Possessioni, diritti, giurisdizioni spirituali e temporali, e altri redditi, proventi, terre, possessioni e beni tanto Ecclesiastici, quanto quelli in cui la propria Diocesi di Montefiascone è deputata, e anche limitata, e cinquecento fiorini annui per il Vescovo e quattrocentocinquanta fiorini annui per le porzioni del medesimo Capitolo della Chiesa, che proponiamo di assegnare dai predetti redditi, proventi, terre, possessioni e altri beni, potranno essere assegnati, per mezzo di alcuni dei venerabili Nostri Fratelli della Santa Romana Chiesa Cardinali, e di altre persone sufficienti e degne di fede, per mezzo dei quali su questi argomenti abbiamo specialmente impartito mandati, siamo pienamente informati. Volendo condurre a debito fine ciò che così utilmente abbiamo iniziato, e per questo procedendo nel nome di Dio alla limitazione della detta Diocesi di Montefiascone e all'assegnazione speciale di tali redditi, proventi, terre, possessioni e altri beni per tali dotazioni, vogliamo, decerniamo con autorità Apostolica, e da certa scienza, che i Castelli, luoghi e territori infrascritti, nonché i Monasteri della Chiesa, le mansioni e altro in essa contenuto, cioè la Valle Laterina, Gradoli, Grotta di San Lorenzo, nonché Biscano e Capo del Monte, con i loro territori, Castelli, e inoltre il luogo dell'Isola Martana dentro il lago di Bolsena situato, Martia, che anche presso il detto luogo si trova, Cornone e Farnese, Celleno e Fiorentino Castelli con i loro territori e tenimenti, e l'Isola Bisenzio, che presso il Lago di Bolsena si trova, e Santa Maria di Sanguinario, Santi Giovanni e Vittore, Castello Araldi, Santa Maria in Capo, e Santa Maria Ospedale di San Giovanni Gerosolimitano Mansioni, Castelli Urbevetan., Viterbien., Toscanen., e Balneoregien. della Diocesi, ecc., nonché tutto ciò della Diocesi Balneoregien. predetta tra Viterbo, Celleno, Toscanella e Montefiascone, che nei loro tenimenti fu e essere soleva, della Diocesi Montefiasconese in avanti esca, e tutte queste cose nella medesima Diocesi di Montefiascone deputiamo e assegniamo, e la medesima Diocesi così limitata dal dominio e potestà dei venerabili Nostri Fratelli Cardinali, Urbevetan., Viterbien., Toscanen., e Balneoregien. Vescovi esoneriamo, e al Vescovo di Montefiascone che è e per il tempo sarà diocesano e ordinario diritto sottoponiamo, volendo e decernendo, che tutto ciò che di preminenza, maggioranza, superiorità, giurisdizione e esercizio del diritto spirituale e temporale nella medesima Diocesi per tal modo dalla Beata Romana Sede limitata ai predetti Cardinali Urbevetan., Toscanen. e Balneoregien. Vescovi in qualunque modo spettava, al Vescovo di Montefiascone appartenga antedetto.

8 § 6. Del resto, l'unione, ossia l'annessione della chiesa parrocchiale di Santo Stefano nella predetta isola di Maiano al Vescovo di Viterbo pro tempore esistente, e alla sua Mensa Episcopale Viterbiese, da lungo tempo effettuata, per mezzo delle presenti la dissolviamo, e la medesima chiesa di Santo Stefano, e il rurale Priorato denominato di Santo Benedetto di Pateroo, e un'altra chiesa di Pitigliano della diocesi di Bagnoregio, la quale chiesa di Santo Benedetto al presente risulta vacante per la morte del quondam Capitano di Amelia, con tutti i diritti e le pertinenze delle medesime in qualunque luogo si trovino, alla Mensa Episcopale di Montefiascone annettiam, incorporiamo e uniamo per mezzo delle presenti, così che sia lecito al Vescovo di Montefiascone pro tempore esistente apprendere il possesso corporale delle predette chiese, e dei diritti e delle pertinenze predette, il cui valore risulta essere di centottanta fiorini, senza che sia richiesta alcuna licenza: tuttavia in modo che nella predetta chiesa parrocchiale un vicario perpetuo serva nelle cose divine, come prima della dissoluzione di tale unione era solito servire. E inoltre i frutti, i redditi e i proventi dell'Abbazia, ossia del Monastero di San Pietro di Aliano del valore di quaranta fiorini, nel quale non vi è alcun monaco, né ve ne fu da lungo tempo, e che da lungo tempo per Giovanni Papa XXII nostro predecessore di felice memoria fu unito alla Camera del Patrimonio di san Pietro in Toscana, i quali frutti, redditi e proventi consistono in terre, vigne, selve, pascoli, prati e case situate nel distretto e nel territorio di Cadri Canniti, e nella città di Toscana, con tutti i diritti e le pertinenze sue; e inoltre i redditi e i proventi che la nostra Camera riceve in Cadro di Bulfeno, e nel suo territorio, e nel luogo chiamato Burgi ad Sererum, e nel luogo chiamato Quare vallis lacus, che risulta situato nel cadro di Bulfeno in case sue presso la piazza e il macello, e in un certo mulino ad acqua per macinare della Fontana, e in un certo mulino ad acqua per macinare il grano, chiamato mulino del Pretorio situato presso la porta del detto cadro, e i redditi del detto Burgi ad Sererum, i cui frutti consistono in prati, terre e campi situati nei distretti e nei territori dei cadri di Bulfena Griptarum, e di Santo Lorenzo predetti, i quali redditi e emolumenti dei predetti risultano valere annualmente quarantasette fiorini: nonché i redditi e i proventi che la detta Camera nostra riceve nella predetta città di Montefiascone dai poderi chiamati poderi della Signora Avvenentis, e Ser. 9 e alcuni prati, che si dicono prati della Camera, e in alcune vigne, situate nei territori del detto luogo: censi che consistono in vino e fieno, e non valendo annualmente più di tre fiorini, redditi inoltre, proventi e censi, che si ricevono per la nostra Camera predetta in Castello Matta nel suo territorio, che consistono in case, vigne, molini, selve, pascoli e prati eccetto tuttavia il passaggio, i quali redditi, proventi e censi annui non eccedono settanta fiorini, un certo mulino atto a macinare il grano situato nel territorio del detto Castello Griptarum, che è della Camera predetta del valore di cinque fiorini annualmente: nonché i redditi e i proventi che la nostra predetta Camera ha ricevuto nel castello e nel suo territorio di Centumcellae, che consistono in pascoli e ghiande del valore di centocinquanta fiorini, per la dote del detto Vescovo e della sua mensa designiamo e anche deputiamo, volendo e decernendo che gli animali, che nei predetti pascoli di Centumcellae da parte del predetto Vescovo saranno mandati per i predetti pascoli soltanto, possano e debbano attraverso i pascoli della provincia nostra del Patrimonio di san Pietro in Toscana senza pagamento di erbage, e anche di alcun pedaggio, ossia gabella, andare, tornare e liberamente transitare, quante volte sarà opportuno.

E inoltre per tale dote ai detti Capitoli la predetta Chiesa di San Flaviano, con le Cappelle ad essa annesse e dipendenti dalla medesima del valore di duecento fiorini, per mezzo del presente tenore incorporiamo, anneriamo, uniamo e vogliamo e ordiniamo, che i Benefici ottenuti nella medesima siano Canonici della Cattedrale Chiesa su predetta, e la metà dei frutti, delle rendite e dei proventi rurali della chiesa di Santa Lucia di Paterno della diocesi di Lucca, la quale metà ammonta a cento fiorini, al medesimo capitolo per mezzo del presente tenore concediamo, doniamo, annectiamo, incorporiamo e uniamo, in modo che il medesimo Capitolo di tale metà dei detti frutti, delle rendite e dei proventi, della chiesa di Santa Lucia ora vacante, o quanto prima accadrà che vacasse, per autorità propria liberamente percepire e ai suoi usi convertire possano, di qualunque licenza nulla affatto richiesta, i predetti poderi, ossia rendite ed emolumenti, che il Capitolo della Chiesa Lateranense e la stessa Chiesa nel territorio della detta città di Montefiascone percepiscono e percepire hanno avuto il costume, in qualunque cosa consistano del valore annualmente di cinquanta fiorini, nonché le rendite e i proventi, che la detta Camera già in Santo Savino tra Tuscaniello e Martara percepire ha avuto il costume, che del valore annuo di cento fiorini consistono, per dote del detto Capitolo assegniamo, doniamo e anche deputiamo, e vogliamo, che se tali assegnazioni e deputazioni nostre oltre le predette somme di cinquecento fiorini d'oro per il Vescovo, e di quattrocento quaranta fiorini per il Capitolo suddetto in modo, o altrimenti fossero trovate, nulla possa da essi Vescovo e Capitolo di maggior valore chiedersi, o esigersi in qualunque modo, o dedursi, ma tutto nel loro Capitolo e Vescovo vantaggio ceda, o se per caso meno si trovassero i predetti valere, nulla chiedere o esigere valgano il medesimo Vescovo e Capitolo oltre quello, non ostante qualunque lettera nostra su questo di qualunque tenore esistente, le quali in quanto a questa ordinazione nostra possono essere contraria, di valore vacuiamo interamente, e nondimeno decerniamo essere fermate quanto a quello contenuto in esse nel suo vigore durature. § 8. Queste dunque limitazione, unioni, annessioni, incorporazioni, concessioni, donazioni, deputazioni e assegnazioni nostre così fatte e utilmente ordinate, perpetui valiture nei tempi, e vigore di immutabile fermezza ottenere volendo, per l'autorità predetta aridamente inibiamo, che nessuno di qualunque preminenza, ordine, o stato qualunque splenda dignità questa limitazione e l'altro predetto per os ait promittetur fatto, o alcuna, o alcunché dei contenuti in esse qualunque ricercato colore, modo o causa, o occasione generalmente ad inventati turbare o quomodolibet impedire presuma.
