1Now Ezechias began to reign, when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Abia, the daughter of Zacharias.Ezechia adunque cominciò a regnare in età di venticinque anni; e ventinove anni regnò in Gerusalemme: sua madre si chiamò Abia, figliuola di Zacharia.THERFORE Ezechias began to reigne, when he was fiue and twentie yeares old, and he reigned nine and twentie yeares in Ierusalem: the name of his mother was Abia, the daughter of Zacharias.Igitur Ezechias regnare cœpit, cum viginti quinque esset annorum, et viginti novem annis regnavit in Jerusalem: nomen matris ejus Abia filia Zachariæ. 2And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.Ed egli fece quello, che era accetto negli occhi del Signore, imitando in tutto David suo padre.And he did that which was pleasing in the sight of our Lord, according to al thinges that Dauid his father had done.Fecitque quod erat placitum in conspectu Domini, juxta omnia quæ fecerat David pater ejus. 3In the first year and month of his reign he opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.Egli il primo anno, e il primo mese del suo regno aperse le porte della casa del Signore, e le ristaurò:He in the first yeare and moneth of his reigne opened the doores of the house of our Lord, and repayred them.Ipse, anno et mense primo regni sui, aperuit valvas domus Domini, et instauravit eas. 4And he brought the priests and the Levites, and assembled them in the east street.E fece venire i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, e li raunò sulla piazza orientale.And he brought the Priestes and the Leuites, and assembled them in the East streate.Adduxitque sacerdotes atque Levitas, et congregavit eos in plateam orientalem. 5And he said to them: Hear me, ye Levites, and be sanctified, purify the house of the Lord the God of your fathers, and take away all filth out of the sanctuary.È disse loro: Ascoltatemi voi Leviti, e purificatevi; mondate la casa del Signore Dio de' padri vostri, e togliete dal Santuario tutte te immondezze;And he sayd to them: Heare me ye Leuites, and be sanctified, cleanse the house of our Lord the God of your fathers, and take away al vncleannes out of the Sanctuarie,Dixitque ad eos: Audite me, Levitæ, et sanctificamini: mundate domum Domini Dei patrum vestrorum, et auferte omnem immunditiam de sanctuario. 6Our fathers have sinned and done evil in the sight of the Lord God, forsaking him: they have turned away their faces from the tabernacle of the Lord, and turned their backs.I padri nostri han peccato, e han fatto il male al cospetto del Signore Dio nostro, abbandonando lui: non han degnato di uno sguardo il tabernacolo del Signore, e gli han voltate le spalleOur fathers haue sinned and done euil in the sight of our Lord God, forsaking him: they haue turned away their faces from the tabernacle of our Lord, and geuen the backe.Peccaverunt patres nostri, et fecerunt malum in conspectu Domini Dei nostri, derelinquentes eum: averterunt facies suas a tabernaculo Domini, et præbuerunt dorsum.

7They have shut up the doors that were in the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burnt incense, nor offered holocausts in the sanctuary of the God of Israel.Hanno chiuse le porte dell'atrio, ed hanno estinte le lampadi, e non han bruciato incenso, né offerti olocausti nel Santuario al Dio d'Israele.They haue shut the doores, that were in the porch, and put out the lampes, and haue not burnt incense, and haue not offered holocaustes in the Sanctuarie of the God of Israel.Clauserunt ostia quæ erant in porticu, et extinxerunt lucernas, incensumque non adoleverunt, et holocausta non obtulerunt in sanctuario Deo Israël. 8Therefore the wrath of the Lord hath been stirred up against Juda and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, and to destruction, and to be hissed at, as you see with your eyes.Per questo si è acceso contro Giuda, e contro Gerusalemme il furor del Signore, il quale gli ha abbandonati alla dispersione, alla morte, e agli obbrobrj, come voi vedete cogli occhi vostri.Therfore was the furie of our Lord stirred vp vpon Iuda and Ierusalem, and he hath deliuered them into commotion, and into destruction, & to be hissed at, as your selues see with your eyes.Concitatus est itaque furor Domini super Judam et Jerusalem, tradiditque eos in commotionem, et in interitum, et in sibilum, sicut ipsi cernitis oculis vestris. 9Behold, our fathers are fallen by the sword, our sons, and our daughters, and wives are led away captives for this wickedness.E i padri nostri son periti di spada: e i nostri figliuoli, e le nostre figlie, e le nostre mogli sono state menate schiave a causa di queste iniquità.Behold, our fathers haue fallen by the swordes, our sonnes, and our daughters, and wiues are led captiue for this wickednesse.En corruerunt patres nostri gladiis: filii nostri, et filiæ nostræ, et conjuges captivæ ductæ sunt propter hoc scelus. 10Now therefore I have a mind that we make a covenant with the Lord the God of Israel, and he will turn away the wrath of his indignation from us.Adesso adunque piace a me, che noi facciamo patto col Signore Dio d'Israele; ed egli allontanerà da noi il furor dell'ira sua.Now therfore it pleaseth me that we make a couenant with our Lord the God of Israel, and he wil turne away the furie of his wrath from vs.Nunc ergo placet mihi ut ineamus fœdus cum Domino Deo Israël, et avertet a nobis furorem iræ suæ. 11My sons, be not negligent: the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, and to minister to him, and to worship him, and to burn incense to him.Figliuoli miei, non siate negghienti: voi elesse il Signore, perchè stiate davanti a lui, e lo serviate, e lo onoriate, e gli abbruciate l'incenso.My children be not negligent: our Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, and to minister to him, and to worshipe him, and to burne incense to him.Filii mei, nolite negligere: vos elegit Dominus ut stetis coram eo, et ministretis illi, colatisque eum, et cremetis ei incensum.

12Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azarias, of the sons of Caath: and of the sons of Merari, Cis the son of Abdi, and Azarias the son of Jalaleel. And of the sons of Gerson, Joah the son of Zemma, and Eden the son of Joah.Allora si alzarono i Leviti: della stirpe di Caath, Mahath figliuolo di Amasai, e Joel figliuolo di Azaria: della stirpe di Merari, Cis figliuolo di Abdi, e Azaria figliuolo di Jalaleel. E della stirpe di Gersom, Joah figliuolo di Zemma, ed Eden figliuolo di Joah.The Leuites therfore arose: Mahath the sonne of Amasai, and Ioel the sonne of Azarias, of the children of Caath: moreouer the children of Merari, Cis the sonne of Abdi, and Azarias the sonne of Ialaleel. And of the children of Gerson, Ioah the sonne of Zemma, and Eden the sonne of Ioah.Surrexerunt ergo Levitæ: Mahath filius Amasai, et Joël filius Azariæ de filiis Caath: porro de filiis Merari, Cis filius Abdi, et Azarias filius Jalaleel. De filiis quoque Asaph, Zacharias, et Mathanias: 14And of the sons of Heman, Jahiel, and Semei: and of the sons of Idithun, Semeias, and Oziel.E de' figliuoli di Heman, Jahiel, e Semei: e de' figliuoli d'Idithun, Semeia, e Oziel.Moreouer also of the children of Heman, Iahiel, & Semei: yea and of the children of Idithun, Semeias, and Oziel.necnon de filiis Heman, Jahiel, et Semei: sed et de filiis Idithun, Semeias, et Oziel. 15And they gathered together their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and went in according to the commandment of the king, and the precept of the Lord, to purify the house of God.E raunarono i loro fratelli, e si purificarono, ed entrarono secondo l'ordine del re, e secondo il comandamento del Signore nella casa di Dio per purificarla.And they gathered together their btethren, and were sanctified, and went in according to the commandment of the king, and the precept of our Lord, to purge the house of God.Congregaveruntque fratres suos, et sanctificati sunt, et ingressi sunt juxta mandatum regis et imperium Domini, ut expiarent domum Dei. 16And the priests went into the temple of the Lord to sanctify it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found within to the entrance of the house of the Lord, and the Levites took it away, and carried it out abroad to the torrent Cedron.E parimente i sacerdoti entrati nel tempio del Signore per santificarlo, tutte le immondezze, che avean trovate dentro, le portarono nel vestibolo della casa del Signore; e i Leviti le tolsero, e le portaron fuora nel torrente Cedron.The Priestes also going into the Temple of our Lord to sanctifie it, brought out al vncleannes, which they sound within the entrance of the house of our Lord, which the Leuites tooke, and caried to the Torrent cedron without.Sacerdotes quoque ingressi templum Domini ut sanctificarent illud, extulerunt omnem immunditiam quam intro repererant in vestibulo domus Domini: quam tulerunt Levitæ, et asportaverunt ad torrentem Cedron foras.

17And they began to cleanse on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the same month they came into the porch of the temple of the Lord, and they purified the temple in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the same month they finished what they had begun.E cominciarono a ripulire il primo di del primo mese: e l'ottavo giorno dello stesso mese entrarono nel portico del tempio del Signore, e in otto giorni espiarono il tempio; e ai sedici dello stesso mese poser fine all'opera incominciata.And they began to clense it the first day of the first moneth, and in the eight day of the same moneth they entred into the porche of the temple of our Lord, and they purged the temple in eight dayes, and in the sixtenth day of the same moneth, they accomplished that which they began.Cœperunt autem prima die mensis primi mundare, et in die octavo ejusdem mensis ingressi sunt porticum templi Domini, expiaveruntque templum diebus octo, et in die sextadecima mensis ejusdem, quod cœperant, impleverunt. 18And they went in to king Ezechias, and said to him: We have sanctified all the house of the Lord, and the altar of holocaust, and the vessels thereof, and the table of proposition with all its vessels,E andarono a trovare il re Ezechia, e gli dissero: Abbiam purificato tutta la casa del Signore, e l'altare degli olocausti, e i suoi vasi, e la mensa di proposizione con tutti i suoi vasi,They entered in also to Ezechias the king, and sayd to him: We haue sanctified al the house of our Lord, and the altar of holocaust, and the vessels therof, moreouer also the table of proposition with al the vessels therof,Ingressi quoque sunt ad Ezechiam regem, et dixerunt ei: Sanctificavimus omnem domum Domini, et altare holocausti, vasaque ejus, necnon et mensam propositionis cum omnibus vasis suis, 19And all the furniture of the temple, which king Achaz in his reign had defiled, after his transgression; and behold they are all set forth before the altar of the Lord.E tutte le suppellettili del tempio contaminate dal re Achaz, mentre regnò, dopo ch'egli ebbe prevaricato: ed ecco che tutte queste cose sono esposte dinanzi all'altare del Signore.and al the furniture of the temple, which king Achaz in his reigne had polluted, after that he transgressed; and behold al thinges are set forth before the altat of our Lord.cunctamque templi supellectilem, quam polluerat rex Achaz in regno suo, postquam prævaricatus est: et ecce exposita sunt omnia coram altare Domini. 20And king Ezechias rising early, assembled all the rulers of the city, and went up into the house of the Lord:E il re Ezechia si levò di gran mattino, e convocati tutti i magnati della città, salì alla casa del Signore.and Ezechias the king rising early, assembled al the princes of the citie, and went vp into the house of our Lord:Consurgensque diluculo Ezechias rex, adunavit omnes principes civitatis, et ascendit in domum Domini:

21And they offered together seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats for sin, for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, for Juda: and he spoke to the priests the sons of Aaron, to offer them upon the altar of the Lord.E offersero insieme sette tori, e sette arieti, e sette agnelli, e sette capri per lo peccato, pel regno, pel Santuario, per Giuda: ed egli disse ai sacerdoti figliuoli d'Aarone, che gli offerissero sull'altare del Signore.and they offered together seuen oxen, and seuen rammes, seuen lambes, and seuen buckgoates for sinne, for the kingdom, for the sanctuarie, for Iuda, and he sayd to the Priestes the children of Aaron, that they should offer them vpon the altar of our Lord.obtuleruntque simul tauros septem, et arietes septem, agnos septem, et hircos septem pro peccato, pro regno, pro sanctuario, pro Juda: dixitque sacerdotibus filiis Aaron, ut offerrent super altare Domini. 22Therefore they killed the bullocks, and the priests took the blood, and poured it upon the altar; they killed also the rams, and their blood they poured also upon the altar, and they killed the lambs, and poured the blood upon the altar.E i sacerdoti immolarono i tori, preso il sangue, lo sparsero sopra l'altare; e scannarono anche gli arieti, e il sangue di essi sparsero sopra l'altare, e immolaron gli agnelli, e ne sparsero il sangue sopra l'altare.They killed therfore the oxen, and the Priestes tooke the bloud, and powred it vpon the altar, they killed also the rammes, and their bloud they powred also vpon the altar, and they immolated the lambes, and powred the bloud vpon the altar.Mactaverunt igitur tauros, et susceperunt sanguinem sacerdotes, et fuderunt illum super altare: mactaverunt etiam arietes, et illorum sanguinem super altare fuderunt, immolaveruntque agnos, et fuderunt super altare sanguinem. 23And they brought the he goats for sin before the king, and the whole multitude, and they laid their hand upon them:E fatti venire i capri per lo peccato dinanzi al re, e a tutta la moltitudine, imposero a quelli le loro mani:They brought the buckgoates for sinne before the king, and the whole multitude, and they put their handes vpon them:Applicuerunt hircos pro peccato coram rege, et universa multitudine, imposueruntque manus suas super eos: 24And the priests immolated them, and sprinkled their blood before the altar for an expiation of all Israel: for the king had commanded that the holocaust and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.E i sacerdoti gl'immolarono, e ne sparsero il sangue davanti all'altare in espiazione di tutto Israele: perocché il re avea comandato, che si facesse olocausto per tutto Israele, e per lo peccato.and the Priestes immolated them, and sprinkled their bloud on the altar for an expiation of al Israel: for the king had commanded for al Israel, that holocaust should be made, and for sinne.et immolaverunt illos sacerdotes, et asperserunt sanguinem eorum coram altare pro piaculo universi Israëlis: pro omni quippe Israël præceperat rex ut holocaustum fieret, et pro peccato.

25And he set the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps according to the regulation of David the king, and of Gad the seer, and of Nathan the prophet: for it was the commandment of the Lord by the hand of his prophets.Egli ancora stabilì nella casa del Signore un numero di Leviti co' loro cimbali, e salteri, e cetere secondo quello, che avean ordinato il re David, e Gad Veggente, e Nathan Profeta; perchè questo era comando dal Signore intimato per mezzo de' suoi profeti.He appoynted also the Leuites in the house of our Lord with cymbals, and psalteries, and harpes according to the disposition of Dauid the king, and of Gad the Seer, and of Nathan the Prophete: for it was the precept of our Lord by the hand of his prophetes.Constituit quoque Levitas in domo Domini cum cymbalis, et psalteriis, et citharis secundum dispositionem David regis, et Gad videntis, et Nathan prophetæ: siquidem Domini præceptum fuit per manum prophetarum ejus. 26And the Levites stood, with the instruments of David, and the priests with trumpets.E i Leviti stavan tenendo tralle lor mani gli strumenti di David, e i sacerdoti le trombe.And the Leuites stoode, holding the instrumentes of Dauid, and the Priestes trumpettes.Steteruntque Levitæ tenentes organa David, et sacerdotes tubas. 27And Ezechias commanded that they should offer holocausts upon the altar: and when the holocausts were offered, they began to sing praises to the Lord, and to sound with trumpets, and divers instruments which David the king of Israel had prepared.Ed Ezechia comandò, che si offerissero gli olocausti sopra l'altare: e mentre si offerivano gli olocausti, cominciaron quelli a cantare le lodi del Signore, e a sonare le trombe, e a fare armonia co' varj strumenti inventati da David re d'Israele.And Ezechias commanded that they should offer holocaustes vpon the altar: and when holocaustes were offered, they began to sing prayses to our Lord, and to sound with trumpettes, and on diuerse instrumentes, which Dauid the king of Israel had prepared for to sound.Et jussit Ezechias ut offerrent holocausta super altare: cumque offerrentur holocausta, cœperunt laudes canere Domino, et clangere tubis, atque in diversis organis quæ David rex Israël præparaverat, concrepare. 28And all the multitude adored, and the singers, and the trumpeters, were in their office till the holocaust was finished.E mentre tutto il popolo faceva l'adorazione, i cantori, e quei, che tenevan le trombe, facevan l'uffìzio loro, per sino a tanto che fosse terminato l'olocausto.And al the multitude adoring, the singing men, and they that held the trumpettes, were in their office, whiles the holocaust was accomplished.Omni autem turba adorante, cantores, et ii qui tenebant tubas, erant in officio suo donec compleretur holocaustum.

29And when the oblation was ended, the king, and all that were with him bowed down and adored.Finita poi l'adorazione, il re con tutti quelli, che eran con lui, si prostrarono, e adorarono.And when the oblation was ended, the king bowed, and al that were with him, and adored.Cumque finita esset oblatio, incurvatus est rex, et omnes qui erant cum eo, et adoraverunt. 30And Ezechias and the princes commanded the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David, and Asaph the seer: and they praised him with great joy, and bowing the knee adored.Ed Ezechia, e i principi ordinarono ai Leviti, che lodassero il Signore cogli inni di David, e di Asaph Profeta: e quelli cantaron laude con grande allegrezza, e piegate le ginocchia, adorarono.And Ezechias, and the princes commanded the Leuites, that they should prayse our Lord in the wordes of Dauid, and Asaph the Seer: who praysed him with great ioy, and bowing the knee adored.Præcepitque Ezechias et principes Levitis, ut laudarent Dominum sermonibus David, et Asaph videntis: qui laudaverunt eum magna lætitia, et incurvato genu adoraverunt. 31And Ezechias added, and said: You have filled your hands to the Lord, come and offer victims, and praises in the house of the Lord. And all the multitude offered victims, and praises, and holocausts with a devout mind.Ed Ezechia soggiunse ancora: Voi vi siete consagrati al Signore; venite, e offerite vittime, e laudi nella casa del Signore. E tutta la moltitudine offerse vittime, e laudi, e olocausti con cuor divoto.But Ezechias added these wordes also: You haue filled your handes to our Lord, come, and offer victimes, and prayses in the house of our Lord. Al the multitude therfore offered hostes, and prayses, and holocaustes with a deuout minde.Ezechias autem etiam hæc addidit: Implestis manus vestras Domino: accedite, et offerte victimas et laudes in domo Domini. Obtulit ergo universa multitudo hostias, et laudes, et holocausta, mente devota. 32And the number of the holocausts which the multitude offered, was seventy bullocks, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs.E il numero degli olocausti offerti dal popolo fu questo: settanta tori, cento arieti, dugento agnelli.Moreouer the number of the holocaustes, which the multitude offered, was thls, oxen seuentie, rammes an hundred, lambes two hundred.Porro numerus holocaustorum quæ obtulit multitudo, hic fuit: tauros septuaginta, arietes centum, agnos ducentos. 33And they consecrated to the Lord six hundred oxen, and three thousand sheep.E donarono al Signore secento bovi, e tre mila pecore.And they sanctified to our Lord oxen six hunered, & sheepe three thousand.Sanctificaveruntque Domino boves sexcentos, et oves tria millia.

34But the priests were few, and were not enough to flay the holocausts: wherefore the Levites their brethren helped them, till the work was ended, and priests were sanctified, for the Levites are sanctified with an easier rite than the priests.Ma i sacerdoti erano in piccol numero, e non potevan supplire a scorticare gli olocausti: per la qual cosa i loro fratelli i Leviti gli aiutavano, sino a tanto che tutta la funzione fu compiuta, e furon consagrati dei sacerdoti: imperocché con rito più facile si consagrano i Leviti, che i sacerdoti.But the Priestes were few, neither could they suffise to draw of the skinnes of the holocaustes: wherfore the Leuites also their brethren holpe them, til the worke was accomplished, and the Priestes were sanctified, for the Leuites are sanctified with an easier rite, then the Priestes.Sacerdotes vero pauci erant, nec poterant sufficere ut pelles holocaustorum detraherent: unde et Levitæ fratres eorum adjuverunt eos, donec impleretur opus, et sanctificarentur antistites: Levitæ quippe faciliori ritu sanctificantur quam sacerdotes. 35So there were many holocausts, and the fat of peace offerings, and the libations of holocausts: and the service of the house of the Lord was completed.Così furon moltissimi gli olocausti, e i grassumi delle ostie pacifiche, e le libagioni degli olocausti: e fu rimesso in piedi il culto della casa del Signore.There were holocaustes therfore verie many, the fatte of pacifiques, and the libamentes of the holocaustes: and the seruice of the house of our Lord was accomplished.Fuerunt ergo holocausta plurima, adipes pacificorum, et libamina holocaustorum: et completus est cultus domus Domini. 36And Ezechias, and all the people rejoiced because the ministry of the Lord was accomplished. For the resolution of doing this thing was taken suddenly.Ed Ezechia, e tutto il popolo ebber grande allegrezza della ristaurazione del culto del Signore. Imperocché tal risoluzione era stata presa improvvisamente.And Ezechias reioysed, and al the people, because the ministerie of our Lord was accomplished. For it pleased them that the thing should be done of a soden.Lætatusque est Ezechias et omnis populus, eo quod ministerium Domini esset expletum: de repente quippe hoc fieri placuerat.
