CLEMENTE I - Epistola ad Corinthios, V. 2 - VI. 3, contained in the well-known Codex Alexandrinus of the Bible (5th cent.). The passage refers to the martyrdom of Pietro and Paolo in Rome and to the Roman proto-martyrs - London, British Museum, ms. Codex Alexandrinus, Royal I D VIII, f. 134.
Methodius, the panegyric of St. Cirillo, and the Office in his honour. In Bulgaria he wrote numerous sermons and probably also the Treatise on the True Faith. He translated many writings from Greek.
C. was venerated as a saint immediately after his death (feast, 27 July). In resurgent Bulgaria he was chosen as patron of the University of Sofia.
