1The psalm of David, which he sung to the Lord, for the words of Chusi, the son of Jemini. The Psalme of Dauid which he song to our Lord, for the wordes of Chusi the sonne of Iemini. (2. Reg. 16.)Psalmus David, quem cantavit Domino pro verbis Chusi, filii Jemini. 2O Lord, my God, in thee have I put my trust; save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.Signore, Dio mio, in te ho posta la mia speranza: salvami, e liberami da tutti coloro, che mi perseguitano.O Lord my God I haue hoped in thee: saue me from al that persecute me, and deliuer me.Domine Deus meus, in te speravi; / salvum me fac ex omnibus persequentibus me, et libera me: 3Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save. Lest sometime he as a Lyon violently take my soule, whiles there is none to redeme, nor to saue.nequando rapiat ut leo animam meam, / dum non est qui redimat, neque qui salvum faciat. 4O Lord, my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands:Signore, Dio mio, se io ho fatta tal cosa, se havvi nelle mani mie iniquità;O Lord my God if I haue done this, if there be iniquitie in my handes;Domine Deus meus, si feci istud, / si est iniquitas in manibus meis, 5If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies. If I haue rendred to them that repayd me euils, let me worthely fal emptie from myne enemies.si reddidi retribuentibus mihi mala, / decidam merito ab inimicis meis inanis. 6Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life, on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust.Perseguiti l'inimico l'anima mia, mi raggiunga, e calpesti insiem colla terra la mia vita, e riduca in polvere la mia gloria.Let the enemie persecute my soule, and take it, and treade downe my life in the earth, and bring downe my glorie into the dust.Persequatur inimicus animam meam, et comprehendat; / et conculcet in terra vitam meam, / et gloriam meam in pulverem deducat. 7Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord, my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded:Levati su, o Signore, nell'ira tua, e fa mostra di tua grandezza in mezzo a' miei nemici. E levati su, o Signore, Dio mio, secondo la legge stabilita da te:Arise Lord in thy wrath: and be exalted in the coastes of myne enemies. And arise ô Lord my God in the precept which thou hast cō manded:Exsurge, Domine, in ira tua, / et exaltare in finibus inimicorum meorum: / et exsurge, Domine Deus meus, in præcepto quod mandasti,

8And a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high.E la moltitudine delle nazioni si adunerà intorno a te. E per amor di questa ritorna nell'alto:and a sinagogue of peoples shal compasse thee. And for it returne on high:et synagoga populorum circumdabit te: / et propter hanc in altum regredere: 9The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.Il Signore fa giudizio dei popoli. Fammi ragione, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l'innocenza che è in me.our Lord iudgeth peoples. Iudge me ô Lord according to my iustice, and according to my innocencie vpon me.Dominus judicat populos. / Judica me, Domine, secundum justitiam meam, / et secundum innocentiam meam super me. 10The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought; and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God.La malvagità de' peccatori avrà fine, e sarai guida del giusto, tu, o Dio, che penetri i cuori, e gli affetti. The wickednesse of sinners shal be consumed, and thou shalt direct the iust, which searchest the hart and raynes ô God.Consumetur nequitia peccatorum, et diriges justum, / scrutans corda et renes, Deus. 11Just is my help from the Lord; who saveth the upright of heart. My iust helpe is from our Lord, who saueth those that be right of hart.Justum adjutorium meum a Domino, / qui salvos facit rectos corde. 12God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day?Dio giusto Giudice, forte, e paziente si adira egli forse ogni dì?God is a iust iudge, strong, & patient: is he angrie euerie day?Deus judex justus, fortis, et patiens; / numquid irascitur per singulos dies ? 13Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. Vnlesse you wil be conuerted, he shal shake his sword, he hath bent his bow, and prepared it.Nisi conversi fueritis, gladium suum vibrabit; / arcum suum tetendit, et paravit illum. 14And in it he hath prepared the instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn.E con esso ha preparati strumenti di morte; le sue frecce ha formate per quelli, che spiran fiamme. And in it he hath prepared the vessels of death: he hath made his arrowes for them that burne.Et in eo paravit vasa mortis, / sagittas suas ardentibus effecit.

15Behold he hath been in labour with injustice: he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity. Behold he hath bredde with iniustice: he hath conceiued sorow, and brought forth iniquitie.Ecce parturiit injustitiam; / concepit dolorem, et peperit iniquitatem. 16He hath opened a pit and dug it: and he is fallen into the hole he made. He hath opened a pit, and digged it vp: and he is fallen into the diche, which he made. 17His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall come down upon his crown. His sorrow shal be turned vpon his head: and his iniquitie shal descend vpon his crowne.Convertetur dolor ejus in caput ejus, / et in verticem ipsius iniquitas ejus descendet. 18I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.Glorificherò il Signore per la sua giustizia, e al nome del Signore altissimo canterò inni di laude.I wil confesse to our Lord according to his iustice: and wil sing to the name of our Lord most high.Confitebor Domino secundum justitiam ejus, / et psallam nomini Domini altissimi.
